What does that mean to you: to be healed?
~ to make free from injury or disease, to make sound or whole
~ to make well again, to restore health
~ to cause an undesirable condition to be overcome
~ to patch up or correct
~ to restore to original purity or integrity
Most of us would say all of the above. I wish for myself and for you all of these things! But how do we get to this place? This place of wholeness?
Yoga offers us many opportunities to restore our health and many additional sciences can contribute to healing such as: Reiki, Aromatherapy, Chakra Balancing, and even Nature. We will touch on each of these here and during the month of August as you prepare for the remainder of the year. We are past the halfway point of the year and are on the slide to the end of the year. It is time to check IN… How do you feel right now? How do you want to feel? Are they the same? If not, then you have some inner patching or correcting to do in order to BE Healed.
Your body’s ability to heal is far greater than anybody has permitted you to believe.
The word Reiki is comprised of two words: Rei meaning Universal and Ki (or Chi) meaning Life Energy (or Prana). Everything is energy, right? If you are feeling out of balance you can take a closer look toward healing your Self. Certain types of Reiki use the energy of the Five Elements of nature to deepen the healing process and restore the body, others focus on the Chakras. The energy passes through the giver to the receiver – it is not transferred from the giver to the receiver. This is an important point. Because of this, anyone can learn to use the healing energy of Reiki! The energy flows into the body and travels along the Meridians in the body to unblock areas of built-up emotional energy, or disharmony. It can help to eliminate pain, promote relaxation, restore balance, and enhances the body’s natural ability to heal. (Check out the Reiki Training THIS Saturday 8/5!)
Reiki energy empowers the body to heal itself.
These Meridians are energy pathways in the body that run through the connective tissues to all major organs in the body. There are 14 defined major meridians in the body; 12 of which are considered the organ meridians. It takes about 15 minutes for the Ki/Chi to make the circuit through the 12 organ meridians. Places where these Meridians intersect are considered vital energy centers or Chakras. How energy flows through these centers greatly affects us. Balanced Chakras allow energy to flow freely, promoting health, vitality, and harmony. But life experiences such as illness, trauma, and stress can cause imbalances which block the flow of energy. These imbalances produce a wide array of ailments & disturbances and can result in chronic illness, disease, and habitual patterns of thinking, feeling, & behaving. This is why moving the energy is so important.
“There is deep wisdom within our very own flesh,
if we can only come to our senses and feel it.”
Elizabeth A. Behnke
Essential oils work with the human body and can help empower you to naturally assist your body’s cleansing and healing process. They offer an abundance of natural healing options and can be an important tool in improving your emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness. Each Meridian, organ, & Chakra is thought to govern a unique emotional and spiritual state. Applying essential oils and administering Reiki to these places in the body where the energy centers lie can have a profound effect on healing. (Check out the Chakra Aromatherapy Workshop THIS month 8/19!)
People don’t need to be saved or rescued. People need knowledge of their own power and how to access it.
Each of the Meridians, organs, and Chakras are also associated with one of the Five Elements, with Nature. And each has unique properties that govern our energy bodies: spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical. All is connected, you have so much power to heal your Self! Learning all of the details, roles, and implications of our actions and thoughts and feelings can have a powerful impact on our self-healing process. Tuning IN to what is going on in the body, what we are feeling and where, is necessary for this to happen. We invite you this month to join us for a special event, to ask questions about these things, and get to know your Self. From the inside out.
“I am confident. I allow vital life force energy to flow through me, and animate my life on all levels. I take responsibility for my actions, my feelings, and my thoughts. I allow myself to shine.”
