BE True: open to your true heartfelt desire

Life. On Purpose. -Yogi E

The very fact of your existence confirms that you are supposed to be here. But what is your purpose? What is your true heartfelt desire? What is your intention for this life? Hopefully in January you took some time to reflect and create a Sankalpa, or Intention, for the new year and beyond.

According to Richard Miller PhD regarding Intention:

“It is life living its highest purpose through

You as its unique expression.”

Intention is a force in the universe and everyone & everything is connected to this force. Intention and Purpose (your true heartfelt desire) are beautifully and naturally intertwined; there are no accidents. Most times when we are feeling like everything is a problem and nothing is “right” it is because we have strayed from Intention and are disconnected from our true heartfelt desire. The process of staying connected to and reconnecting to Intention is work! And it is not as much about what we do as how we feel.

Are you living your Intention, your true heartfelt desire?

Where do you need to direct your energy?

How do you know if you are on the right path?

All thoughts about your Purpose are really your Purpose trying to reconnect to you. Do not live with the hope of a better future; your life is happening now! Listen to those thoughts. Allow your Self to fully feel your desire; that which brings about a truly passionate response deep inside your being. The study of the Self requires us to connect our actions with the consequences. We do this all the time, unconsciously, when we are learning a new skill. Go back to when you learned how to ride a bike. You pedaled once, maybe twice, and then tipped over. Then you analyzed what went wrong, made an adjustment, and tried again. Perhaps this time you pedaled five times before falling over. Again, you analyzed, made adjustments, and kept on going. And you kept at it until you could pedal as long as you wanted to!

Such is the road to seeing your true heartfelt desire clearly. Make a conscious effort to stay connected and listen. Feel it. Go to that place deep inside you where Intention and Purpose fit together so perfectly that you know simply, this is it. When you are inspired by a great purpose, by your true heartfelt desire, everything will begin to fall into place.

Yoga is the journey of the Self,

through the Self,

to the Self.

-Bhagavad Gita

Be honest with your Self on this road – never underestimate the power of your own Self-deception! You may think and say that you are 100% invested, connected, and trying your hardest, but are you really? What you get out of this process is 100% related to what you put into it. The booby prize is that the longer you practice with it, the harder it is to stick with it! It becomes difficult, maybe even painful, especially emotionally. But if you can stay with it, you can expand your capacity to become comfortable with the discomfort, and so, you grow into your best Self. You live your true heartfelt desire.

“Those who have failed to work toward the truth have missed the purpose of living.” -Buddha

February is American Heart Month, sponsored by the American Heart Association, and of course it is about heart-health. So, what about your heart health? Not on the physical level, on the emotional level. How healthy is your heart? How do you nurture it? Are you connected to your Intention, your true heartfelt desire? Are you living your life on Purpose? I encourage you to act as if you're living the life you were intended to live - even if you are still a bit unsure about this thing called Purpose. Invite into your life, every day, that which calls to your heart. Keep your thoughts and feelings in line with your actions. Where attention goes, energy flows...

Follow your heart.

Be inspired by your Purpose.

Connect to your Intention.
